SEASON HIGHLIGHTS/MILESTONES
- The Jackets knocked off five higher-ranked teams in 2012 in nine chances.
- Tech started the year off with a 3-2 victory over No. 8 Arizona and a 6-5 walk-off victory over No. 20 Nebraska at the Kajikawa Classic.
- The Jackets followed that with a 1-0 victory over No. 4 Oklahoma at the ACC/SEC/Big 12 Challenge shutting out the national runner-up Sooners and defeating National Player of the Year Keilani Ricketts.
- The Jackets defeated No. 8 Georgia at home at Mewborn Field in front of a packed house shutting out the Dawgs 2-0 as freshman Chelsie Thomas came around to score from first on a throwing error handing Tech its first win over Georgia since April 9, 2008.
- Tech defeated No. 21 Florida State on the road 5-4 thanks to a game saving catch by Shannon Bear out in left field.
- The Jackets swept the competition outscoring Virginia (6-4), Florida State (9-1) and Virginia Tech (9-1 [5]) to claim its third ACC Tournament Championship in the last four years.
- Tech made an appearance in its 11th straight NCAA Tournament heading to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for NCAA Regionals.
